OPEN PATHWAYS
The Silver Bay YMCA of the Adirondacks has announced its new OPEN PATHWAYS membership program for community members living year-round in Warren and Essex counties. This program, which began on August 1, 2006, uses an income-based rate scale designed so that all individuals and families will have access to membership, programs and services of the Silver Bay YMCA, regardless of income.

Funds for the OPEN PATHWAYS membership program are available thanks to generous donors to Silver Bay’s Annual Giving Program. OPEN PATHWAYS memberships will grant money each year to assist individuals or families with their membership or program payments. Everyone is asked to pay a portion of the fees for any membership or program but they are adjusted based upon income and household size.
Anyone interested in the OPEN PATHWAYS membership program should apply in person at the front desk of the Inn at 87 Silver Bay Road. At the time of application, information on the amount fees could be reduced will be available. Depending on gross family income and number of people in the family, participants in the OPEN PATHWAYS program may have their fees reduced by 10% to 95%. Applicants are required to complete the membership application and submit a copy of their current federal tax return within 2 weeks of the joining date.
OPEN PATHWAYS funds also apply to the Afterschool and Silver Camp programs. Families interested in these youth programs and requiring financial assistance are also encouraged to apply to the State Department of Social Services.
